Charter of the Global Imome Project (GiP) Instrument Purchase Fund

Project Introduction
To promote the spirit of open science and foster global collaboration and innovation in the field of Ion and Molecule Group Omics (imOmics) research, this fund is initiated and established by the Zhongguancun Xuyue Non-Invasive Micro-Test Technology Industrial Alliance.
The fund is open to scientific researchers worldwide who plan to purchase NMT (Non-Invasive Micro-Test) instrumentsor Ion and Molecule Group Omics instruments. It provides financial support for equipment acquisition, aiming to jointly build a global instrument platform and collaborative networkfor Ion and Molecule Group Omics research.
Eligibility for Application
Scientific researchers (including postdoctoral fellows) from research institutions and higher education institutions worldwideare eligible to apply. There are no restrictions based on geographic location or research field.
Instrument Eligibility Requirements
The equipment that the applicant plans to purchase must comply with the alliance standards and be produced in Chinese Mainland, and the manufacturer must be a company registered in China.
Funding Method
This is a subsidy-based fund. Applicants who plan to purchase NMT or Ion and Molecule Group Omics instruments that meet the fund’s criteria may receive a subsidy covering a certain percentage of the total equipment cost. The remaining costs must be covered by the applicant through other project funds.
Funding Amount
The fund offers a subsidy of 10% to 80% of the total instrument price.
Project Approval
The subsidy decision, including whether to approve the application and the subsidy amount, will be made by the Alliance Expert Committee.
Approval cycle: 30–60 days.
Application Process

l Upon approval, the expenses will be directly paid to the manufacturer by the alliance. The instrument manufacturer shall apply for payment from the alliance with documents such as the fund approval letter (copy), the contract signed with the purchasing unit (copy), and the acceptance report from the purchasing unit (copy).
Online Application Period
March 1, 2026 – March 1, 2027
Implementation Period
l From the date of fund approval, the grantee must complete the instrument purchase and acceptance within 1 year.
l If an extension or termination is required due to special circumstances, a written application must be submitted to the Alliance before the execution deadline.
l Failure to execute the project within the deadline without explanationwill result in cancellation of the funding qualification, and may affect future project applications.
Final Reporting Requirements
l Inclusion in the GiP Expert Database:The applicant will be automatically included in the Global Imome Project (GiP) Expert Database.The applicant is expected to support GiP-related academic activities — including expert consultations and project reviews — on the basis of mutual agreement.
l Joining the GiP Demonstration Base:The applicant’s laboratory will serve as a “GiP Technology Demonstration Base.”On the basis of mutual agreement, the lab is expected to provide demonstrations, exhibitions, and technical exchanges related to NMT experiments.
l Acknowledgement in Publications:Within 2 years after the purchase, any research outcomes achieved using the instruments funded by this grant must acknowledge the Fundby citing the Fund ID number in the acknowledgments section.
l Compliance with Methodological Standards:If academic publications resulting from the use of the NMT or related Omics instruments funded by this grant are produced, the methodology sections must comply with the “Zhongguancun NMT Alliance NMT Methodology Writing Technical Standard.”
l If the recipient seriously violates the above regulations, subsequent applications for projects will be affected; if there are two instances of serious violations of the above regulations, the recipient will be disqualified from applying for all funding projects from the "Zhongguancun NMT Alliance".
